Utilio is a fully offline, local-first utility app. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data. no account system.

All data created by the app—calculator history, encrypted notes, palettes, cached exchange rates, favorites, and custom ordering—is stored only in your device’s app sandbox and never leaves your device.

🔐 Permission Use

Utilio requests system permissions only when you actively use the related features, and data never leaves your device.

Camera

Used for QR scanning, the protractor camera mode, magnification, and color picking. Camera frames are only used for real-time display and interaction.

Microphone

Used only for real-time noise level measurement in the decibel meter. Audio is processed in memory and discarded immediately.

Location Services

Used only to display compass orientation and coordinates. Location information is shown on screen in real time and is never stored or shared.

Photo Library

Used when you choose a photo for color sampling or save compressed images or generated QR codes to your album.

Device Passcode / Note Password

Used to unlock encrypted secure notes. Password verification is performed locally, and hashes are stored in the device Keychain with ThisDeviceOnly access.

💾 Storage and Encryption

Local Storage

The following information is stored locally in your device’s app sandbox using UserDefaults or Core Data:

Calculator history
Cached exchange rates for offline use
Saved color palettes
Home screen tool order and favorites
Appearance preferences
Note password hashes stored in Keychain

Encrypted Notes

Secure notes are protected using AES-256-GCM encryption. The encryption key is generated on first use and stored in the device Keychain with the following protections:

Never synchronized to iCloud
Stored as SHA-256 hashes for note passwords

Deleting Data

Deleting the Utilio app permanently removes all local data, including encrypted notes, keys, history, and preferences. This action cannot be undone.

🌐 Network Access

Utilio is designed around offline-first usage. The only feature that requires network access is currency conversion, which downloads the latest rates when online and caches them locally for later offline use.

Currency rate data comes from public exchange APIs and contains only currency codes and values. No personal data is sent to any server.

🚫 What We Do Not Do

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or other personal identifiers.
We do not upload photos, notes, calculator history, or other data.
We do not track your location.
We do not read your contacts, messages, or other app data.
We do not include social sharing features.
We do not require account registration or sign-in.

📱 Child Privacy

Utilio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not intentionally collect personal information from children. Because the app does not collect personal data, it is safe for children to use. If you are a parent and have concerns, please contact us using the information below.

🔄 Policy Updates

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. The latest version will be posted on this page and reflected in the app under Settings > Privacy & Data.

If there are material changes, we will clearly notify you in app release notes.
